WEEK 44
Hello! I hope you’re well.
I’m sharing with you 2 weeks-worth of visual journals. For the first one, we were in Elie, Scotland where we had a family break and rented a little eco lodge. It had a hot tub and sauna which was so fun but the best part for me was the view! I did quite a lot of sketches and was very inspired by the local colours.
WEEK 45
My second week’s highlights include:
our weekend in Edinburgh. For a bit of context, I moved there as a young adult nearly 20 years ago. I had finished university in France, was full of dreams, and travelled to Edinburgh to become teacher. It’s where I met my husband a few years later and then had our first 2 boys. And it’s also where I rekindled my love for art, started drawing again and got a colouring book of Edinburgh published. So whilst I could try to describe how it feels to go back, it may take a whole book. But if I only had 5 words, they would be: charming, inspiring, quaint, familiar, nostalgic.
making a new batch of homemade granola, this has been a lovely way to encourage us to get out of bed in the mornings as we get back into a normal routine after our break.
a blissful club meet on ZOOM with co-host Charlotte Hamilton, we drew scenes of my time in Italy (recording available here).
dreaming up a new collection of original pieces as I am working towards showing and selling work at the Doncaster Corn Exchange on Saturday 30th so I’m getting busy with prep for that.
the last session of the concertina course I took part in. It has reminded me to play even more with textures and to not over-think or over-work my pieces too much, learning when to stop painting, and to let a piece be finished.

29th Nov | Co-journaling session (exclusive to club members, see club chat)
30th Nov | If you’re in Yorkshire, I’ll also be show casing and selling my work at the newly renovated victorian Doncaster Corn Exchange craft market. I will be selling Christmas cards, botanical prints and a collection of original pieces, inspired by my local landscape. Come say hi! It’s on from 9am-4pm!
