Hi friends!

How’s your week been? We’ve had a fairly normal week with school, studio work and after school activities. Some blue skies, some grey. I’ve really enjoyed my morning coffees. And the snowdrops, my studio space and tulips.

We had friends over for lunch on Sunday and they brought me tulips. So what could I do!!? Of course I had to draw them!! And so my obsession began!! On Thursday I had a whole morning drawing and painting these. In so doing, I got a head start on these visual journals - filled up the left page very quickly!!

Also this week, I continued the January Plein Air Challenge which is coming to an end!! So many people took part in this by either posting their plein air work in the club chat or on Instagram and did SUCH a fantastic job!! Thanks to all who got out in the cold and braved the elements to do this!! More on this in the February GAZETTE which will drop today.

Highlights from this week include:

  • finishing the plein air challenge and learning so much from the process

  • studying tulips, the shape, the colours

  • writing the February GAZETTE and reminding myself of how much everyone has achieved in the club this month

  • drawing the snowdrops locally, especially on Saturday in Epworth

  • organising a Paris in Winter zoom call with Samantha Dion Baker in February - I can’t wait - it’ll be on Valentine’s

  • drawing Italy in our zoom drawing session (see below)

  • watching Ezra swim for the first time

  • the general feeling that January wasn’t that bad after all and feeling very grateful for it

How was your week and how would you illustrate it?
