Hello! How are you doing? What your week been like?
This week I’ve seen a lot of pink. Or maybe it’s just that I’m drawn to it after my time at The Coral Room in London two weeks ago. I’ve painted a little on canvas this week and feel encouraged that I can build on something. It’s not easy (mentally) to start something new like painting on canvas when you’ve had years of drawing in a sketchbook but I know it’s only by trying that we can get somewhere. Right?

Highlights of the week
drawing nectarine blossoms in the Victorian glasshouse at Clumber Park (National Trust)
picking up a box of Mikados for me and the kids - complete joy for £1.50
a lunch date with Mike at the garden centre and picking up a Mississippi mud pie - yum!!
continuing to enjoy all the pinky peachy corals
continuing to work on larger pieces and feeling out of my depth sometimes but overcoming that - that is a win in itself for which I’m thankful
finally sending out the Oroblanco sketchbook tour in the club, I finished the sketchbook before the start of 2025 and painted the cover a few weeks back. Getting that done feels so good! And it was lovely revisiting all the sketchbook pages and sharing my process.
saying goodbye to this year’s crocuses but saying hello to more daffodils and soon, it’ll be the bluebells!!
going into Doncaster with the kids to pick up some books and found a perfect Brambly Hedge jigsaw which officially marks the grand opening of my 2025 Christmas Wishlist (which isn’t ever really a thing but now that I’m writing this, it will be). My birthday is in May and it’s just NOT a May kind of gift. It’s a winter gift. Okay.
having lemons on my desk. Smells so good and I can draw them anytime.
