Hello! Happy Saturday morning!

How was your first week of March? What did you see? What did you do? What colours stood out? These are the questions I ask myself on Friday mornings. It’s become a sort of beautiful ritual.

How is it week 10 already?? This is good! It means Spring is definitely on its’ way. We’re seeing so many gorgeous signs of new life here in South Yorkshire.

This week I’ve felt extremely tired. It’s probably due to a sense of relief. Relief that we’ve got through the worst of the winter months and the sun is still shining (it was just hiding for a bit). Relief that as a family we’ve had some big events that went well and were successful. But all this has taken out of me.

I wanted to push through that feeling but I also needed to rest and getting the balance was tricky. One thing is sure, going outdoors always really helps. And in the process I did some sketches of the crocuses, just for fun and also painted some postcards for my Founding members.

Highlights of the week

  • studying the crocuses outdoors

  • that blue sky

  • having lunch with Mike outside on the patio on Thursday, what a lovely gift!

  • studying the orange house (again) and trying to simplify my lines

  • eating a scrumptious homemade strawberry ice cream we’d forgotten about in the freezer (who does that??)

  • drawing a Paris scene of the Seine which I just can’t get out of my head and dreaming of going back (it may in fact happen this year)

  • the garden mimosa in all its splendour

  • an impromptu date with my youngest - hot choc with marshmallows

What were your highlights?

Note: see how hard I pressed the word ‘London’ last week with my colour pencil, it rubbed right through to this page (spot it under the Time Foragers’ Club?) - that’s fine, it’s all part of the story!

St Patrick’s Drawing session

Monday 17th March 7pm GMT: Don’t miss our club’s Co-Drawing St Patrick’s with the wonderful Charlotte Hamilton. Together we will draw a handful of images from beautiful Ireland, as well as people celebrating all things green around the world! This will start with a few faster paced warm ups, then several slow paced shots.

Come dressed in green for a chance to win a special treat!

Sign up via the club chat (exclusive to paying members). People as what I offer in the club: As part of the offering for paying subscribers, I also send out a video every month with footage of a day out, a sketchbook tour, or creative prompts. The latest video was my bookbinding process to make my own sketchbook for the visual journals and for a specific challenge that we did in January. In this video I also share a tour of that sketchbook once I had finished it (see it here) with some thoughts on the January Plein Air Challenge.

You can read more on what’s on offer in the club’s ABOUT section.

The Time Foragers’ Club GAZETTE (free)

The 6th issue of the club gazette has dropped and you can read it here. It has lots of fun things to read and all the club dates for the months, from journaling sessions to drawing meetings etc.

Weekly Visual Journals (free)

If you missed it, here’s last week’s visual journals in which I share a very special day trip in London. A wonderful day and wonderful times!!!

Thanks for reading! Have a lovely weekend and see you next week! xx
