Hard to believe it’s been 40 weeks of visual journals! I was in Italy for an art residency - What a special way to celebrate!
My highlights are difficult to pick as they are so many! There were some nuggets within nuggets!! I’m quickly listing them in my notebook here but I’ll be sure to post a sketchbook tour of the entire body of work I did out there sometime soon. You may have seen some of it in my notes. There’s a lot and I’m so encouraged!
Since coming home (my flight back in itself was incredible), I have been painting and drawing olive trees and valleys and Italian-inspired still life over and over again. I now have a solid body of work which I’ll soon be adding to my website and perhaps even sell… And otherwise, this week we’ve had a great collection of sweet chestnuts and saw the northern lights. This was the first time in my life so it was a big dream come true! I know people in both Ottawa and Edinburgh who saw it. Did you see them where you are?
I recorded this video process with the lovely folks who joined me for the very first Time Foragers’ Club co-journaling meeting yesterday. If you’d like to watch the replay, I’ll be posting it in coming days and in the November gazette.

I can’t thank Elisabeth and Stefano from Le Mole Sul Farfa enough for their hospitality during my residency. They were so encouraging of my artwork and were the best hosts I could have imagined! Their organic farm and guesthouse had everything I needed to be both creatively highly productive and rested&restored! I’ve left my videos and pics in my story highlights over on instagram, if you’d like to see those (under ‘residency’).
