Hello friends!
How are you doing? Most of this week has felt a bit blurry, juggling too many plates probably and not doing any of it very well… plus the weather has changed to grey and much, much cooler… the end of the summer is near and a hint of melancholy is in the air. How do you feel at this time of year? Do you find the weather impacts your mood much?
The video of my French sketchbook tour and snippets of our time in France came out yesterday so if you’re a paying subscriber, I hope you enjoy it! Grab a coffee/tea as it’s about 30mins. I’ve added footage of our time there as well as sneak peaks to the new collection I’m working on.
This week in colours (week 34 of 2025)

Highlights of this week include…
going through our French trip again by filming and editing my sketchbook tour
seeing our new dahlias pop up for the first time - there will be a dahlia drawing session this autumn in the club, more on that soon!
having alone time with Ezra - we watched a movie together at the cinema this week (I’d love to make this sort of date happen next week with each of the other two as well)
sketching the trees by Tickhill with my pal Denise, while the boys were playing football on the lawn next to us
having the studio a little tidier after a good clean
the prospect of sharpening my pencils and swatching with the club next week
the easy going morning schedules of summer breaks
a beautiful day at the beach on Saturday and a chance to go on a pirate ship with Ezra
finalising the program for the retreat in Portugal next May, more on this below - I’m very excited!
How was your week? Hope it was good and colourful!

Visual Journaling Retreat - Portugal May 2026

On the other side of winter, there could be something glorious to look forward to! Carve out time to do some visual journaling with me in the most idyllic of settings, join us in Portugal in May 2026. We will have access to stunning heritage vistas, incredible local produce to create still life and an art studio space to get creative together. Have a look at the full program and book your space.
We launched bookings on Thursday evening and already several spaces got booked up (if that’s you, thank you, I’m so excited to meet you in May!!!). We would love for you to come along. There is an early bird until Tuesday 26th August so do make the most of the little discount. We’re so excited about this opportunity to journal and sketch together! I so look forward to drawing the olive trees and sit by the pool together!
QUICK CLUB NOTES: This is a free post for subscribers but you can also become a Time Foragers’ Club paid subscriber and meet up on Zoom 3 times a month (we draw, create and journal), receive a monthly video from my studio, PLUS chat with our blossoming creative community in our exclusive threads. We have occasional in-person meet-ups too. If you love all things antiques, old paper and art, once a year the club’s founding members receive a thoughtfully curated paper bundle in the post which includes some of my original art. The prices for the both tiers of the Time Foragers’ Club will increase on 1st September so now may be a good time to subscribe if you’re on the fence as you will not need to pay more when the price goes up. You will always pay this amount.
