This week’s highlights include:
a family bonfire on Saturday evening after a great day of tidying up the garden. We lit pumpkin lanterns, fairy lights and had s’mores.
a visit to the newly refurbished Corn Exchange of Doncaster and feeling very excited and honoured to be showing my work there on Saturday 30th November (not long to go, so much to do before this!!)
preparations for the Time Foragers’ Club zoom call yesterday got me digging out my old wildlife books. I love that type of research. All the best things for this winter woodland concertina call with guest co-host Mel Chadwick (who has an incredibly delightful Wild Woodland Advent Calendar course which I couldn’t recommend enough!). The call was fun. I think we were all pushed out of our comfort zones and are keen to continue beyond the time we had yesterday. For paid subscribers, don’t miss the replay here and do show us your artwork!
a beautiful day sketching at Brodsworth Hall and Gardens. My hope is to create a body of work inspired by local treasures, to show and sell at the Corn Exchange craft fair at the end of this month. I don’t have much time but I like a deadline!
For my visual journal this week, I used my Kaweco pen to draw and scribble notes. I really enjoyed this process as it was quick and simple. I added colour after the ink. This had to be pencil or Neocolor 2 as the ink isn’t waterproof.
I then added a little more colour to help the ink work pop a bit more.
I hope you’ve had a good week!
Helen xx
