Helen, your pages make me inspired to draw too, even when I didn't do it for a long time, but I see your art and it sparks such a desire to experience something that beautiful, to touch paper and to go and fetch myself some art supplies. Even though I live in a motorhome, so every purchase is very carefully considered, since we live with minimum things. Thank you for bringing beautiful colors into my life.
I don't think I've ever seen a mimosa, and am surprised they flower at this time of the year. I had thought they were a type of tree. I think our winters are colder than yours, which may be partly why we don't see them?
Colors I noticed this week: those in my new set of (15) Neocolor I's. I have been wanting to try them for awhile, though no one seems enthusiastic about them, compared to the 2's, which everyone loves.
Since Valentine's Day has passed, we're on toward St. Patrick's Day and Easter, I tried a little sketch of the brighter colors in a nest of Easter eggs, after swatching them all in my rough handmade Bockingford signature. They are fun to have, as an extra for mixed media play.
I love this! Thank you so much. I'm a writer, but there are times when painting and drawing take up my heart and soul. Thank you for your beautiful art.

Thanks for sharing this Claudia! I hope you can forage some time to fetch those art supplies and create!
Wow, this is gorgeous! How long does a weekly spread like this take you?
I try to keep it to 1hr. Thank you!!!
That's incredible, and inspiring. It makes so much sense to impose a loose time constraint. "A poem is never finished, only abandoned..."
Hi Helen
LOVE your artwork, journals, whimsy… what materials do you use… pastels? Or aquarelle pencils… or…? Would love to know. X
Thanks so much, Ive described in the post what materials I used, I hope that helps. My faves are Neocolor II which are aquarelle x

You’re right, Mimosa is indeed a tree. You can just cut the blooms off into bundles. They’re quite popular in the south of France.
I can’t wait for St Patrick’s and Easter!! Bring on the pastels!!
Oh, thank you for that clarification.
Yes!

That's so kind of you to say, thank you. Writing and painting have so much in common.
My former colleague (she’s retired) said that she creates art with a brush and I create art with words. Love that.
I love the richness of neocolors!
I do too! They're the best!
