Details from the finished spread and some of the things I made this week.

Today I’m sharing 2 cozy videos. The 1st is of the base of watercolour. I stopped the video to let that dry, drink my ginger&lemon tea and answer a few emails! The 2nd one is of inking and adding details to the scene, mainly with pencils and Neocolor II. I’m also sharing with you photos of some of the details that inspired me throughout the week. Starting with a beautiful fireplace…

Christmas meal out with friends at the Mucky Duck restaurant - I loved this fireplace! If you look really close, you can see little me in the mirror!
The set of cards I made for Ezra
Drawing random magic I found on the walk back from school drop-off! This was the last blank page of my current Oroblanco Pith sketchbook.
Some more drawings I did during a zoom call with Samantha Dion Baker and a very messy desk!
The handmade sketchbook ready for the Plein Air Challenge in January

Highlights of the week

  • getting the boys’ bedrooms clean and tidy (I especially enjoyed reorganising and re-discovering their picture books and non-fiction books. Most of the time I resent tidying their room but when it’s tidy it gives me so much joy!

  • the outdoor carol service at our church was lovely

  • making a card game for Ezra

  • making a sketchbook for the January Plein Air Challenge (it’s free and you can join too!). To make this sketchbook, I followed Peg&Awl’s online tutorial HERE. Thanks

for this, it’s an amazing resource. Now I can’t wait to get started!

  • feeling all organised with having bought a TV guide!! My parents used to have them delivered to us back during my childhood in France.

  • drawing scenes from the 5 most popular movies people over on my IG like to watch at Christmas time. It was a fun thing to do while I was half watching Die Hard (it came 5th in the list but it’s not really my cup of tea, I was glad to have used that time drawing!!) with Mike!

Here is the final spread with added details.

I wonder how you would illustrate your week?

Wishing you a wonderful Christmas season,

Talk next week. xx
