This Week's Visual Journals
Week 48 of 2025
Hello!
I hope you’re well!
What a week! It’s been a whirlwind with LIVE calls and lots of admin, but also some very sweet flow state moments spent on a big project in the studio (more on this soon). In the busy-ness, I carved out time to see a friend for coffee and cheesecake on Tuesday, went to the cinema solo on Thursday, as well as drive out to the Hemswell Antique Centre with a friend on Friday. Now it’s Saturday and I’m posting this and I’m going to rest with my little family! The last few weekends I’ve solo parented so just being together today feels precious.
I hope you had a good week. x
Highlights of the week
our first heavy frost
starting a new Pith sketchbook with some swatching, always a treat!! (watch me swatch here)
being at school with my middle son to make an acts of kindness advent calendar
drawing Scottish Seascapes with the club and
continuing my 100 day project drawing still life, learning so much about colour combos
catching up with friends - friends are good for the soul!!
finding little antique tins
chatting LIVE with
on visual journaling (you can catch the replay here, free for all)having our club journaling session last night was great to catch my breath and feel more grounded

Scottish Seascapes
Also Monday 24th Nov,
was our guest as we drew Scottish Seascapes together during our monthly Co-Drawing session. The replay for this is now in the club archives.I also went LIVE on Substack prior to the call to share what materials I’d be using. If you’re on the hunt for some ideas! Here’s the replay! Though I warn you I do need to purchase a new phone as the quality isn’t great.
If you’re a paid subscriber of the Time Foragers’ Club, please don’t miss the monthly video Scottish Seascapes Vlog which I edited and posted last week. I take you along to the east coast of Scotland and share some of my highlights, frustrations and my travel sketchbook pages.
Italy Art Retreat September 2026 - BOOKINGS LIVE

Bookings for the art retreat in Italy, Visual Wanderings: An Italian Sketchbook Journey 2026 went live on Tuesday! The single occupancies sold out within 5mins which was super exciting!!! There are a some shared twin room spaces left so if that sounds like something you’d like, check the website. You can book solo or come with a friend (do share this info with them). If you’d like to learn more about the retreat, we had a Drawing Italy meet on Tuesday in which we shared a lot of info. This included the general feel of the place as well as details such as how Elisabeth and Stefano run the organic farm and guesthouse, the culture, our exclusive access to the gardens and pool, the area, the outings, the food, the workshops etc. The replay will be free to watch for 2 weeks. It was so fun to see some of this' years’ group on the call, we had something of a post-meet-reunion which got us a bit emotional! We’d love to see you at our next retreat in 2026. It’s going to be so fun!!
