MONTHLY REPORT
Drawing Little Women Club Meeting
On Tuesday 10th Dec members of the club met with co-host and illustrator extraordinaire Kayla Stark to draw from Film Grab pictures of the movie Little Women (2019). It was a lovely opportunity to briefly consider the theory of Light and Darkness in art, also known as Chiaroscuro. Although, we mainly geeked over gingham, ice skating and chatted about our favourite Little Women adaptations. We had fun experimenting with different materials, some of us let golden hues dry prior to the call in order to efficiently add darker tones.
Citla said: "I loved the image collection and the variety of subjects!"
Thanks everyone for joining!

Poet’s Corner
Winter
by Louisa May Alcott
The stormy winter's come at last,
With snow and rain and bitter blast;
Ponds and brooks are frozen o'er,
We cannot sail there any more.The little birds are flown away
To warmer climes than ours;
They'll come no more till gentle May
Calls them back with flowers.Oh, then the darling birds will sing
From their neat nests in the trees.
All creatures wake to welcome Spring,
And flowers dance in the breeze.With patience wait till winter is o'er,
And all lovely things return;
Of every season try the more
Some knowledge or virtue to learn.

MEETINGS
Wednesday 1st January - 7pm GMT | UPDATE: this kick-off event is now full BUT this challenge is open to all. Throughout January, we will aim to draw outside every day (6 days and a day of rest). Every day, go outside to draw or paint!!! Of course, you can start the process outside and finish inside or take a photo then finish inside. You can also start the process outside and only let it be a record of simple marks and only that, this is also fine! In this zoom meeting we will have a chat about possible challenges which may arise and we will have a Q&A to dive deep into it all. We will draw throughout the session, finishing our day 1 of the challenge or prepping for the rest of the month. This could be swatching materials we're selecting to go out, making lists of places to go or simply re-organising our bag. Grab a cup of tea and join us for this cozy event (this event is free but is limited to 50 guests, the replay will be sent out to paying subscribers on Thursday 2nd January). For more info, check out this post.
Tuesday 21st January - 7pm GMT | The co-creating meeting this month will be held in partnership with wonderful illustrator Emma Carpendale. We will be creating our own nature journal spreads, encouraging the art of noticing. Check out Emma’s work, she has a fabulous Substack and is a keen bird watcher. Members are invited to bring their own collection of treasures from their walks outdoors, whether actual foraged treasures, fallen with the wind or photo/book references. All to bring materials they feel comfortable using. All levels welcome and celebrated! To sign up, go to the Time Foragers’ Club Chat (exclusive to paying members) and click on the Luma invite to receive the Zoom link.
Monday 27th January - 7pm GMT | The co-drawing session will be with guests Elizabeth De Coster, from the Italian Le Mole Sul Farfa organic guesthouse, as well as Karla Sotres, a local ceramist. Together we will draw olive trees, Italian landscapes and still life from the organic farm. This event will offer organic farm insight as well as an opportunity to ask specific questions regarding the art retreat.
This session is a FREE event for all - limited to 100 spaces.
